We pulled into the driveway under the cover of rain clouds for their Tanawha home wedding on the Sunshine Coast. It was forecast to really, really rain. Really rain. The big marquee that they had purchased for their wedding was set up in their backyard and it was surrounded by beautiful gardens. There was a big open grassy space for the ceremony and lots of hustle and bustle while their wedding was being put together. They hired Penfolds Catering who were busy in their outdoor mobile kitchen preparing the most wonderful gourmet buffet for the feast. Did I mention the delicious smell?!?!
The food also looked and tasted amazing! Yes, that’s right – Kirk and I were given a seat at a guest table, complete with our own name cards! These two treated us like guests and fed us like guests. Very unexpected surprise for us during the course of the night! It was a wedding feast… complete with amazing pork crackling!
While Jodie and Tim got ready pre-ceremony, the heavens opened up with a ton of rain. I was inside photographing Jodie who was super calm, positive and just going with the flow. I love a bride who just lets the day unfold however it goes. Rain or shine, the memories of the day will be perfect no matter what <3
Kirk was with Tim in another room of their house. Jodie did very well to avoid being seen!
The rain didn’t last long and friends and family got stuck into wiping down the ceremony seats. It was a really beautiful representation of how loved these guys are.
This was backed up by the really beautiful, heart-warming speeches (one of my favourite parts of a wedding are the speeches)! Seriously, think of the most down-to-earth, relaxed and welcoming people you know and if you are lucky enough to know these guys, we’re pretty sure Tim & Jodie’s smiling faces faces will appear in your mind! We had SUCH a great time and it was a joy to be a part of a wedding between two such wonderful people!
