Down-to-earth Aussie bloke Mark married his joyful Texan beauty Jess yesterday at Flaxton Gardens in the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland. What a magnificent day it was! Having met on a Contiki Tour many years ago, and staying in touch over some long distance emailing, these two were just made for each other! Both Mark and Jess’s families were so warm and welcoming and the whole day was spent laughing and celebrating together. It was a really beautiful picture of two families from opposite sides of the globe coming together in the name of love!
The day started off with Treens at Flaxton Grove and Kirk at Flaxton Farmhouse which were the locations for Mark and Jess getting ready for their big day. The Farmhouse was a quaint little country-style cottage and was the perfect location for the laid-back boys, while the girls and Jess’ family enjoyed the very luxurious and magnificent Grove House!
Mark and Jess decided on a ‘First Look’ before the ceremony which we were privileged to witness as we captured this special moment before they said “I do”. Having a First Look before the formalities of the day begin was such a beautiful touch and the couple enjoyed a quiet moment together to really soak it all in and share in their excitement just the two of them (and a sneaky kiss before they became husband and wife!).
The ceremony took place in Landsborough at Our Lady of the Way Catholic Parish with a very significant, symbolic and touching service by Father Kevin Smith. After the ceremony, we drove up the mountain and across to Montville where we took them to a little secret location for some bridal party photos.
With the reception at the ever stunning Flaxton Gardens, we joined Mark and Jess’ guests as they were finishing a decadent High Tea and about to begin Cocktail Hour. Woohoo!! A formal sit down dinner followed (and as usual, amazing food by the staff at Flaxton!) with the evening finishing off with some very impressive dance moves! We were even bopping along to some of the tunes while snapping some pretty awesome grooving!
We always finish shooting a wedding full of adrenaline and excitement for the new couple and their loved ones! Nothing beats the feeling of being there to document two families joining together as they celebrate the union of two very amazing people. We certainly loved every moment of Mark and Jess’s wedding and can’t wait to see what the future holds for two very genuine and loving people.
Congrats guys!
