So here it is folks!
The thing that everyone has been waiting for (oh, I’m calling myself ‘everyone’ from now on by the way :)) Our epic veggie garden is up and running!
Below you can see our progress so far. It’s been a lot of hard work for us both as we decided to go with flat beds as opposed to raised. This makes it much harder to prepare the soil than just buying some pre-made soil and just dumping it into a garden box. Both ways work well, but we decided that our Maleny red dirt is rich enough for our organic veggies.
You can see what we’ve planted so far in the last photo, but rest assured there is more to plant and more photos to come too.
We’re I’m really looking forward to the challenges of keeping a veggie patch; rabbits, chooks, cat’s, insects, birds, weather and lots more! I think that’ll keep us busy for a while. In the end though, Treens and I believe it’s absolutely worth the effort to grow our own organic veggies, keep our own organic(ly fed) chooks who reward us with yummy organic, ultra free-range eggs, collect our own organic water and breathe our own organic air 🙂
Let us know what you think and what you’re doing with your garden and PLEASE jot down a few tips for us in the comments below! We’re not total veggie garden noobs but we’d love some great advice! Especially if you know about companion planting.
