We’re committed to making time for each other throughout the week and purposefully invest into our marriage. It is sometimes as simple as sipping a cup of coffee together on the couch at home, or heading out on a fun date night.
Date night happened last night for us. We had a massive week at work so we booked dinner in advance at the start of the week so we’d have something to look forward to at the end of the week. Could Friday’s get any more sweeter? 🙂 We know that if it ain’t in the calendar, it ain’t gonna happen.
For those who follow us on Instagram (@kirkvagg and @treensvagg), you would know we hit good old Hog’s Breath for our restaurant of choice last night. This place has been part of a family tradition for me while growing up, so going there have many wonderful memories…..and they do a rippa good steak there too (and the curly fries…mustn’t forget the curley fries…)!
Kirk and I then scooted over to the movies to watch The Avengers in 3D. Love, love, loved it! Bit corny in some places, but it added to the superhero-ness. I’m a bit of a fan of the Marvel movies, even though I had no idea who any of the traditional Marvel characters were until I watched them. I didn’t read any of the comic books when I was younger. I was more of a Barbie and fake-Ken kinda girl (fake-Ken = another barbie with her hair cut short). Kirk usually has to fill me in on the Marvel characters before we go and see each movie so that’s why dinner is always a good idea beforehand. If you like lots of loud stuff, awesome graphics, humour and spandex, you will be a fan of this flick.
Ahh, date nights. It is so important to make sure we take time out to invest in our partners. It can sometimes be tough trying to squeeze it all in with all our other commitments, but our husband or wife should be one of our biggest commitments of all time.
P.S. Exercise those patience skills and wait a few minutes into the credits of every Marvel movie…trust me.
